PNP: Politicians use inmates to kill rivals

MASBATE CITY— Inmates of provincial jails are being used as “hitmen” by certain local officials to get rid of their political rivals, Philippine National Police Director General Jesus Verzosa has disclosed.

Arroyo taps HK connection!

President Arroyo will try to hit two birds with one stone when she meets with government and private sector leaders of Hong Kong in her campaign to fight corruption and at the same time bring in big-ticket investments.

US Gov't downgrades RP efforts to fight [human trafficking]

Cops linked to Lacson fail to get PNP post

MANILA, Philippines - Police officers identified who worked under opposition Sen. Panfilo Lacson are allegedly failing to get sensitive positions in the Philippine National Police (PNP), sources said yesterday.
